Google's Nano Banana 2 Lite: Cheap AI Images Reshape Marketing
6 July 2026

Google DeepMind has released Nano Banana 2 Lite, its fastest and cheapest image model, generating a 1K image in about four seconds for roughly $0.034. It rolls out across the Gemini app, AI Studio, Vertex AI, and Google Ads, keeps up to five characters consistent across images, and tags every output with SynthID and C2PA content credentials.

Why This Matters
Visual content just got close to free. At around three cents per image and four seconds per render, the cost of producing marketing visuals collapses. A small business can now generate a month of on-brand social and ad imagery for the price of a single stock photo.
Consistency is the real unlock. Earlier image tools drifted, giving you a different face or product in every frame. Holding up to five characters and many objects stable makes AI usable for actual campaigns, not just one-off graphics.
Provenance is now built in. SynthID watermarking and C2PA credentials mean these images arrive labelled as AI-generated. That matters as advertising and platform rules on disclosure tighten across the EU.
Our Take
Cheap, fast, consistent image generation moves the constraint in marketing from production to judgement. Making the picture is no longer the hard part. Deciding what to say, keeping it on brand, and wiring it into a workflow that ships content reliably is where the value now sits.
The businesses that win here will not be the ones generating the most images. They will be the ones that connect these models into a repeatable pipeline: brief in, on-brand assets out, published to the right channels with the right disclosures. That is an integration and process problem, and it is exactly the kind of workflow we help clients build rather than leave to ad hoc prompting.
